Bishop Garlington's message and ministry of reconciliation have touched thousands and led to the formation of Reconciliation! Ministries International, a network of churches and ministries that recognize his apostolic leadership. He has traveled the world and has made numerous trips to South Africa, where he has ministered in many diverse churches and contributed greatly to racial healing in that nation.
Bishop Garlington and his wife, Barbara, founded a nondenominational church in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1971. That church is now Covenant Church of Pittsburgh, a thriving multi-racial expression of reconciliation and community in the inner-city with a membership of 2,000 people.
Bishop Garlington hosts a daily radio broadcast called "Free Indeed" and a weekly television show in Pittsburgh. He was recently the featured worship leader on a Maranatha! Music recording and has also recorded three other worship albums. Bishop Garlington has authored two books entitled, Worship: The Pattern of Things in Heaven and Right or Reconcilied: God's Heart for Reconciliation!
Bishop Garlington and Barbara have seven children and ten grandchildren and have seen most of their children join them in the work of the ministry.
