No matter how sincere we are, if we neglect the vital essentials of balanced and healthy spiritual and social relationships, we can become ineffective and even harmful in the very ministry we love. This workshop explores how to keep ourselves in a state of        wellbeing so that we minister to our maximum effectiveness.

Relationships in Worship   (Thursday at 10:00am)

Worship is all about relationships.  We love God and we love others.  We learn in community and we interact with peers, authority figures, and members of the church.  Here we explore biblical ways of relating to those around us in the context of a church community, particularly in the worship ministry.

Relationships Roundtable  (Friday at 10:00am)

Pastors, worship leaders, and worship team members come together in an open forum to discuss relevant topics around the subject of relationships in the worship ministry.

Music Theory I <Beginner/Intermediate>

This workshop covers the fundamental aspects of music theory: rhythm, pitch, notation, intervals, scales, triads and seventh chords, diatonic harmony, transposing, how to learn a song quickly, all in a way a wide range of musicians could understand.

Music Theory: Practical Arranging for Worship Teams <Advanced>

Music theory scares some people and bores others. Yet, it can be a worship leader’s best friend when simple       principles are applied to composing and arranging songs for your unique worship team.

Rhythm Section Workshop

(Thursday and Friday at 1:15pm)

Musicians are invited to bring their instruments  and explore how to make a basic rhythm section sound much better than they are - very quickly! Learn how to interpret the mood of a song, tips to playing tightly together, and how to enhance, not interfere with, what God is doing in your   worship service.

David Ruis: The Big Picture  (Thursday at 1:15pm)

David’s ministry has taken him to many countries all over the world. Hear his perspective on what God is doing in worship around the world and how it applies worship in our local churches.

David Ruis: Songwriting Forum  (Friday at 1:15pm)

David’s songs are loved around the world.  Come hear  insights on songwriting from the author of such favorites as “Every Move I Make”, “I Will Give You All My Worship”, “Break Dividing Walls”, “True Love,” and “Sweet Mercies”.

Dance Workshop Track

Welcome dancers!  Come for this exciting clinic on dance in worship. Learn how to flow with what the Lord is doing  during worship, and explore new possibilities in praising the One who is worthy!

Track: Using Multimedia in Worship
(Thursday & Friday at 1:15 & Saturday at 9:00am)

Hear solutions to common problems from experts in the fields of video/computer projection, multi-media, stage set up, and sound ministry.

Vocal/Instrument Instruction
(Thursday & Friday at 2:30pm)

Each attendee will get a chance to receive instruction on his or her instrument from an accomplished musician. These will either be private or master class sessions, depending on the number of students registered on your instrument.

Mentoring Worship Leaders  (Thursday at 2:30pm)

What will the worship ministry in your church look like when you are no longer there?  This workshop helps existing leaders gain practical insights on teaching both spiritual and practical essentials to new leaders in their local context.

Worship Leading “Nitty-Gritty”  (Friday at 2:30pm)

Working with volunteers, sensing God’s direction, running a practice, creating a solid sound with what you have,      fostering commitment, the balance between planning and spontaneity, and shepherding your worship team: these are all issues that every worship leader must face.  In this team-taught workshop there will be a chance to discuss specific issues and search for workable solutions. 

Banners Workshop (Saturday 9:00-11:45am)

A creative workshop including scriptural foundations for the use of banners in worship and practical information on  making banners yourself.
